IT'S SHOWTIME!...This might be a little unexpected but the curtain goes up once more!
It has been a little while since the curtain went up on this blog. After almost a year interval, I’m thrilled to announce that we are back, and the programming is going to be better than ever.
You might be thinking hang on what's this? you are right to think that. So here goes...Since August last year HarryTheatreLife took a little break for little while (almost a year) due to personal reasons, that funnily enough kind of led me back here once again, plus other complicated personal reasons (which I won't go into as this is a theatre blog), that have been out of my control which saw me needing time out to figure out myself. Though they haven't been fully resolved, as they say "the show must go on" which is one of the reasons for this return.
Over the past couple of weeks/months I do admit I have really missed being able to share my thoughts and my passion on theatre. I lost the "theatre escapism" feeling and the creativeness when writing. I missed the discovery of new theatre and felt a little disconnected to the theatre world, with me actually saying no to seeing shows, plus miss seeing all the familiar faces of the theatre blogging community.
During this year break it made me think how this blog brought my creative side out when writing reviews, expanding knowledge on various types of theatre and making connections that honestly have been so valuable and loved building over time.
I had loved speaking to ED fringe shows, discovering shows outside the usual circle, which I hope to continue.
So, as we come up to this year long hiatus, HarryTheatreLife is BACK! in this new revival... At first this new revival was going to be a video podcast, with interviews with stars and creatives but unfortunately that hasn't happened.
But with that in mind this new revival a FULL team will hopefully be returning along side me to share their honest, thoughtful and constructive theatre critiques while also bringing back Behind the Curtain interviews.
This revival will be journalism focused, with reviews, interviews, news and maybe even some features along the way. Spotlighting theatre topics from both sides of the pond (this will come over time)
To get us warmed up, I’m throwing it back to two (interviews and reviews) of my all-time favourite posts: https://www.harrytheatrelife.co.uk/post/review-sing-street-the-musical-lyric-hammersmith-theatre-london https://www.harrytheatrelife.co.uk/post/behind-the-curtain-an-interview-with-kenrex-star-and-co-writer-jack-holden
I look forward to returing to reviewing and being back in the great theatre blogging community.
