The Westway Sessions at the Vaudeville Theatre continue with Aimie Atkinson's concert, which took place in the small and intimate venue which was perfect for this concert.

The concert started with an amazing opening act by Lordinmusic who sang some of his original songs and some covers which was a great start to the evening.

Then as Aimie took the stage she went through her album “Queens” song by song showing the different stages of her life and how she’s grown as a performer explaining what each song meant to her and the story or context behind it, even bringing on an incredible line up of special guests on stage to bring the concert to life even more.

Aimie sang loads of her original songs like “Do it again” which she wrote for Eurovision and some covers like: "Somewhere over the rainbow", where she explained how that song kickstarted her career in theatre. This was then followed with her being in the musical “Six”, which I'm sure you have all heard of, where she also included some songs from in the concert as Six has been a very important part of her career playing the role of Katherine Howard in the show.

It was great to see Aimie bring on some former Howard’s on stage to sing "All you wanna do" with her including: Vicki Manser, Sophie Isaacs and Hannah Lowther. Following that she also sang "Heart of stone" with fellow Six stars: Grace Mouat, Jaye J Richard Noel and Natalie Paris.

This concert was so moving and special and I could see how much Aimie was enjoying it and how much it meant to her which made me enjoy it even more.

The audience interaction was just as incredible, the contact Aimie and all the performers on stage were making with the audience really made you feel a part of it. I loved being able to get this insight into how Aimie’s career has gone from start to the present and it is very inspiring to see.
